GAO Report on Actions Needed to Address the Challenges of Responding to Zika Virus Disease Outbreaks

Knowledge about Zika virus epidemiology has increased in the past year, including information about Zika virus disease incidence and distribution of cases, and its associated adverse health outcomes, according to a report issued on May 23 by the Government Accountability Office.  The report includes five recommendations for the Secretary of Health and Human Services related to Zika virus surveillance, diagnostic tests, and mosquito control programs.
